Stainless Steel IBCs - General Duty
The Optitainer Stainless Steel General Duty Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) Series provides United Nations IMDG-certified, heavy-duty liquid handling solutions designed for the safe transportation, bulk storage, and precise decanting of dangerous goods and aviation fuels across road, rail, and sea freight logistics. Built from durable low-carbon stainless steel (SS304 / SS316L), these tanks feature superior corrosion resistance, reduced risk of carbide precipitation, and minimal residual hold-up.
Within the General Duty category, the range is divided into two specialized types tailored to specific industry applications:
1. Chemical General Duty IBC (CTCHEGD Series)
- Primary Application: Transport, storage, and decanting of hazardous industrial chemicals, solvents, and dangerous goods falling under UN Packaging Groups II & III (Classes 3, 5, 6, 8, and 9). 316/304 stainless steel for food, chemical and pharmaceutical liquids. UN31A/Y certified.
Key Features:
- UN31A/Y IMDG Approval: Certified for safe intermodal transport globally.
- Standard Safety Lid: Standard manway lid featuring a 75mm center fusible fire safety cap rated for temperature relief at 138°C.
- Anti-Splash Fill & Low-Level Sample Point: Equipped with a 50mm anti-splash fill tube and a 20mm low-level sample collection ball valve situated in the tank floor sump for clean fluid sampling.
- Inscribed Dipstick: Includes a dipstick and guide tube with an inscribed liter scale for precise storage monitoring.
2. Aviation General Duty IBC with Hatch (CTAVGDH Series)
- Primary Application: Dedicated transport, field storage, and refuelling of aviation fuels, specifically Avgas and Jet A1.
Key Features:
- Pressure Manway Hatch: Fitted with an integrated pressure manway assembly providing automatic pressure venting (21 kPa), vacuum relief (-3.5 kPa), and emergency thermal release at 138°C in case of fire exposure.
- Refuelling Integration: Designed to integrate seamlessly with auxiliary aviation refuelling setups, including Hi-Flo refuelling drum pumps (up to 115 L/min), 10-micron FA2 fuel filters, static earthing reels, and ATEX-certified automatic cut-off nozzles.
- Clean Fuel Engineering: Uses low-carbon stainless steel and a dedicated sump collection area at the tank floor to ensure strict fluid purity required for aviation service.
